PB III exhibition takes as its theme the reinventing of the fan, exploring the interplay between tradition, craftsmanship, and innovation. Barrington’s journey reimagining the fan began as a self-exploration of his personal experience as a sugar baby. Through his experience he grew curious of the lives of other sex workers in society to see how they function and what challenges they face in the modern age.

This set the aim to aid this societal group. To tell his story, Barrington created a character, Amyl, who ventured into the world of design with one goal - helping her sisters work in a safe and controlled environment, free from persecution. Barrington’s choice of Amyl was an excuse to step into the field of cross dressing, a curious aspect of his sexuality he sought after. A repetitive pattern in Barrington’s work, combining the needs of the user with his own needs/impulses.
