Kinky Fuck, 2022.
Kinky Fuck is a cheeky, surrealist exploration of shame, kink, and the hidden double lives of everyday objects. Created in response to a brief to design a surreal handheld tool, Barrington used the opportunity to confront the lingering cultural discomfort surrounding the use of sex toys—particularly those tied to BDSM.
The project began in the kitchen, a space loaded with domestic familiarity and quiet taboo. Barrington noticed how certain utensils—a spatula, a pizza cutter, a carving knife—carried subtle associations with acts of dominance, restraint, and sensation. What if, instead of hiding these connotations, we embraced them? What if we stopped pretending our homes—and our bodies—don’t hold more complex desires?
Kinky Fuck reimagines these culinary tools as unapologetic bedroom accessories, each one carefully altered to straddle the line between functional object and fetish gear. The spatula becomes a spanking implement, the pizza cutter a symbol of teasing edge-play, and the knife—a provocative gesture toward fear and trust in consensual dynamics.
By twisting the familiar into something playful, absurd, and a little dangerous, the project challenges the shame that often accompanies sexual expression—especially when it’s not vanilla. Kinky Fuck doesn’t ask for permission; it turns up in your kitchen drawer and dares you to use it.
At its core, this project celebrates kink as something ordinary, tender, and even funny. Because sometimes, pleasure starts with a spatula.
